The Shoemakery

I recently took some photos for my friend Maria of her "Shoemakery", a mobile workshop where she produces her customisable, perfectly fitting shoes. Have a look:

A picture of me

I was out in Notting hill on a job last week when I spotted this scene:
I signalled to the girl who was drawing in the window to ask her if it was okay for me to photograph her. She nodded and started drawing something new underneath the design she had been working on:
Soon it became clear...
...that she was drawing me taking pictures of her.
Me with a camera instead of a face.:) A really lovely moment. Thanks Pip. (I went in and spoke to her)

Day of the Triffids

Last week I helped my friends Kila & Rusharc with a photoshoot in a greenhouse for Carnivorous plants. I drove them to Hampshire Carnivorous Plants near Southampton and while they did their elaborate still life set ups among the insect eaters I entertaine myself by taking some polaroids.  Most of these plants we were told originate from the southern United States and need heat and humidity. It's very hot and sticky in those greenhouses!

James Joyce, Tommaso del Buono and Salih Adalier

In April I photographed the artist James Joyce for the online edition of Hole & Corner Magazine at his studio in Shoreditch.
You can find the full article here: www.holeandcornermagazine.com

A few weeks back I also photographed the garden designer Tommaso del Buono at home in London for the Telegraph Magazine's "The World of..." section. The story will be published in this Saturday's edition of the magazine, ahead of the opening of the Chelsea Flower Show, where Tommaso designed this years Telegraph garden.

But for me the most interesting has been making a short portrait film about photographer Salih Adalier together with David San Millán del Río. I have known Salih for a number of years and this January, knowing he was about to sell the building that houses his studio, David and I decided to go back to capture it on film before it was too late.
The film was commissioned by Accent Magazine and Issue 5, featuring our film is now online:
